Topic Two

I know that I have pulled myself away from the news, and maybe that is a bad thing--I don't know. It's not that I am trying to hide under a rock. It is the simple fact that I am to tired! It seems to take to much energy out of me to find out what is real news and what is fake news. There is to much propaganda out there and I haven't trusted much of what people say.

There is main stream news networks that tend to bother me such as Fox and CNN. I am bothered when I hear or read it something where I can comprehend the intent of how it is written--from the point of views with the agenda to make someone think a certain way--versus all the facts or the WHOLE story. I want to know the whole story so I can make my mind up for myself. I am an educated woman that has a brain and believe it or not, I actually think for myself--Thank you very much! When there is bad reporting, or worse, the people only sharing certain details of a story then I find it not only aggravating, but dangerous.

I assume like many people, I get a lot of 'news' from Facebook. If I come across something in my news feed that someone has posted about an event or issue the first thing I do is see who the source is. It is sad to say that I don't know who to trust anymore. Expecailly before, durning, and after the election of President Trump. It got to the point I didn't even get on Facebook anymore. The arguments, the spread of MEME propaganda that for some reason...people take as truth! The power of on sentence, one picture, or hash-tag to me is mind blowing. It is great to unite people, but I have seen it build more barriers than ever before. I find it quite sad honestly.

So, what do I do when I want to know more about something on a deeper level besides coffee and my morning Fox12 news in the morning? I research! I will find more stories about that topic, find different point of views. The best one, I look from outside the U.S. I see what other parts of the world are saying about us, or a situation going on. How are they reporting it? How do they see things from their point of view? What are they reporting and what do they know that we are not being told over here?

I defiantly do not participate in the spreading of 'fake news,' however I am not actively disputing fake news when I see it. Thus, one must painfully admit to being just as guilty as those who do.
